Ugh, acne? We all know the feeling when your eyes are drawn straight to it after wake up in the morning. You are not alone! Everybody experiences acne in their life. Although it can readily cover with concealer but, who wants to cover up acne for the rest of their life?
I know, successfully of treating acne can be flucky. I’m blessed with skin that can be visited by zits once a year. Alhamdulillaah. But, since I came to Indonesia for a holiday. I have to deal with this humid-pollution situation and acne can be very stubborn at times. Hence, here I share how I deal with stubborn acne.
Since the skin has its cycle, never expect much to heal in just one click. Have a balanced diet and avoid foods that can trigger the acne to come up can speed the healing process. Note that trigger foods are individual to each person. For me, cutting sugar and dairy products have helped a lot.
2. Keep It Simple
Often times, acne persists due to too many products we are using at once. Since I try out many different products for the sake of review on my blog, I have realised that it can upset my skin and exacerbate acne. Which is awful! If you have a newcomer product in your routine make sure that it successfully introduced one after the other. Simply just add one product in your routine after 3-4weeks.
3. Watch your skincare ingredients list
Beware of what you are putting in your face, especially when acne resides. Avoid things like Benzoyl Peroxide, alcohol, silicone in your skincare routine. Read more to feed yourself with knowledge here: https://www.rd.com/health/beauty/ingredients-to-avoid-if-you-have-acne/
4. Cleaning Regularly
Does anyone say chores? Not only your clothes but also the bed sheet & pillow case! Your $$ skincare products can be useless if you haven’t washed for ages. Treating acne isn’t solely about the best product that people swear by it. If your arsenal products seem not working properly, look holistically at the things that interact with your face including your cell phone, hats or hair.
I have been consistent with my acne treatment and cleaning regularly for the sake of clear skin without acne. I know, acne-free sounds very much impossible but prevention is always the best treatment. These tips cost you zero but action as a ward off. Note that this is based on my own experience, if you have severe acne, go to a dermatologist. Acne is one of the most treated conditions but to find the culprit can be very tricky.
