Today’s review is this Shea Moisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Conditioner. This product marketed for all hair types and it has virgin coconut oil, coconut milk and Acacia Senegal to rehydrate, nourish and enhance natural softness while reducing frizz. This product came in a plastic bottle for 13 fl oz/384mL. On the bottle, it said this has no sulfates, parabens, mineral oil, propylene glycol, phlates, petrolatum and free from animal tested. Sounds great right? These are all the reason that brought me to finally got my hands on it. But how it goes on me?
I have been loving virgin coconut oil as a hair mask since my mother used to put coconut oil or coconut milk thrice a week since I was a teenager or at least twice a weak. Since that, I have a love affair with coconut in general. I love how my hair felt like afterwards. It leaves my hair smooth, nourished and shines. Also, I often get compliments from my friends and they said that my hair grows faster than they are. I know I might bias but I can’t think of anything other than that. That is the main reason why I purchased this.
The consistency is similar to other conditioners at the market. The subtle scent doesn’t give me a salon vibes but I’m not mad at it. It felt very smooth on my hair before I rinse it off after three minutes. The aftermath is quite nice. Well, it was nice just before I blow dry my hair. When it’s dried up my scalp felt oily and my hair looked flabby as like I haven’t washed my hair for a week. The first impression doesn’t despair me. The second time I decided to let it air dry and the aftereffects put me off. Yes, my hair just flabby as the first time I tried. Since then I didn’t touch it for over a month. Well, it means that I have been trying to figure out the way to use it up as I don’t like to waste products. Until finally, I tried it on my hair and avoid the roots area where my scalp used to get oily. After I rinsing my hair, it felt smooth and flabby-free, oh, and shiny. So, I’ll keep this product and manage to use it up. Will I repurchase? Most likely wouldn’t.
